Dunbar Street, Watsons Bay

Complete renovation of a derelict fishermen's cottage in Watsons bay. The renovation comprised of demolition of all existing timber floors and roof structure leaving only the roof structure over the two existing rooms due to heritage requirements. Removal of all fireplace's and chimneys while still maintaining the chimney protruding through the roof structure. Removal of all render to walls, demolition of the dilapidated timber framed bathroom and masonry walls. Excavation works carried out to provide a new ground floor level. This would become the new Living area, bathroom, laundry which opened out to the BBQ area decking and swimming pool. This cottage had a heritage requirement to be met which meant all external materials to be used would be replaced like for like. This included slate roofing and sandstone walling to match the existing. Internally the home was finished to a very fine detailed and modern style to suite the clients needs.

Client testimonial

"What started as a humble 1890's single level cottage has turned into a beautiful sea side home for my partner and I.
Simon's attention to detail and meticulous planning, although painful at times has helped us achieve what we wanted, a contemporary and comfortable home in which to live our lives.
For any future builds Simon is the man that we would want on any of our projects and have recommend him to several friends already."
